New for 2010, Presenter Publisher provides an elegant mechanism to distribute content to digital signage/digital-out-of-home (DOOH) networks comprising of Presenter Player and Presenter Player for Mac Pro systems wherever they might be across the globe.
Presenter Publisher converts ~sedna presenter from a push model (where Presenter Scheduler pushes content to maybe several dozen playout systems at the command of the network operator) to a pull/subscription model where tens, hundreds or even thousands of playout systems automatically pull both complete projects and updates from a fault-tolerant Internet-based cloud of web servers.
Presenter Publisher makes it possible for network owners and operators to reduce the management burden by removing the need for fixed IP addresses, complex port address forwarding schemes and firewall configuration. Instead, all that is needed is a simple Internet connection delivered using broadband, leased line or even 3G data modems.
Once a project has been created by Presenter Scheduler and imported into Presenter Publisher, all subsequent updates are handled automatically by Presenter Publisher (acting as the server) and the subscription module of Presenter Player (or Presenter Player for Mac Pro) acting as the client. Simply save updates to the same project name and location and the software does all of the distribution whilst you move on to the next project or just get home earlier.
Simply import any project created (or updated) by Presenter Scheduler 2.5 into Presenter Publisher.
Create one or more target web servers for each of your projects. Each project can use a different set of targets, making it possible to create optimised distribution networks for any signage networks.
In Presenter Player (or Presenter Player for Mac Pro), create a subscription to one or more target web servers and decide when you would like projects and updates to be downloaded.
Use Presenter Publisher to keep your projects free of redundant clutter using either the Clean or Consolidate functions. Good housekeeping saves disk space and, more importantly, reduces file transfer times.
